The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Manager (Metro) to lead the delivery of metropolitan and urban optical fibre construction projects. The successful candidate will oversee the management and coordination of critical infrastructure projects that enable AARNet to deliver cutting-edge telecommunications networks to Australia's academic and research sector.
As a key member of our Civil Construction Team within the Infrastructure Development Group, you will report directly to the General Manager of Construction. Your expertise and experience will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of multiple fibre optic civil construction projects across Australia.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
* Planning, organising, directing, and coordinating the delivery of multiple fibre optic civil construction projects in metropolitan and urban areas across Australia.
* Overseeing the implementation of AARNet's quality and safety management systems within your projects.
* Managing project volumes and delivering a range of projects that meet various technical and timing requirements.
* Analysing project construction information and using construction methodologies to make effective project delivery decisions.
* Identifying, planning, and implementing resolutions to construction challenges.
* Collaborating with internal teams to ensure the delivery of broader project tasks.
Requirements
* Australian citizenship with a valid Australian Driver's License.
* Robust understanding of the civils construction industry, preferably with Telstra network knowledge.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel.
* Strong organisational and planning skills.
* Experience in construction Project Management, with additional qualifications or completed training courses an advantage.
