Potential relocation assistance for the right candidate.You will see yourself overseeing the implementation of System Safety principles during the in-service phase of the UH-60M Black Hawk, including its support systems, as well as the integration of new design capabilities into the aircraft.Reporting to the UH-60M Deputy Chief Engineer, your responsibilities will include:Applying system safety techniques to new design activities, such as:Preliminary Hazard IdentificationSystem Requirements / Hazard AnalysisSafety EngineeringAviation Safety Health Hazard AnalysisEnvironmental Hazard AnalysisFunctional Hazard AnalysisSubsystem & System Hazard AnalysisOperating and Support Hazard AnalysisPerform System Safety Risk Assessments in support of technical and design hazards identified during UH-60M operation and maintenance, and recording associated safety argumentation within System Safety Assessment Reports and the greater Safety Case Report, as required.Manage the UH-60M Hazard Log.Facilitate Platform and Project level System Safety Working Groups (SSWGs).Liaison with internal and external stakeholders to ensure robust consultation and communication of risks and associated controls.Provision of support to Incident / Accident InvestigationsTo be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following:Detailed knowledge of aircraft systems and sub-systems.Prior experience co-ordinating safety programs under the Defence aviation safety Regulations (DASR) framework, particularly DASR Part 21.A strong working knowledge of obligations under the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2011.Experience in the provision of System Safety Management support for In-Service CapabilityA Strong working knowledge of ‘Department of Defense standard Practice: System Safety’ (MIL-STD-882E) and its application to the lifecycle of a systemExcellent communication, team work and conflict resolution skillsPrior experience working on a rotary wing programs.Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng, Engineers Australia)Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
