The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting the Royal Commission Implementation Taskforce (the Taskforce), which has been established to lead Defence’s response to the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide Final Report and recommendations.
As a member of the Human Resources team, you will be supported to deliver a variety of Human Resources functions based on the Taskforce’s priorities and operational requirements. Your responsibilities may include the following:
* Working collaboratively with the wider Corporate Governance Directorate to effectively execute HR services, including the provision of expert advice and support on policies, procedures, applicable legislation, and contemporary Human Resources best practices.
* Partnering with Defence Recruitment to manage end-to-end recruitment activities for the Taskforce including; support on recruitment and selection processes, liaising with Delegates and panel members and overseeing completion of recruitment gateways and on boarding.
* Updating and maintaining the Taskforce Organisational structure.
* Lead by example, embodying Defence’s values and the inclusive, positive culture to which we aspire.
About our Team
The Corporate Governance Directorate, which encompasses two small teams, provides critical corporate support services to all members within the Taskforce, from both a Finance and a Human Resources perspective. The two teams operate in a collaborative space, maintaining high levels of customer service and providing outcomes and advice to a diverse and joint workforce of APS, Australian Defence Force (ADF) members and Reservists, legal secondees and labour hire contractors.

The Human Resources role will be supported to deliver Human Resources policy and advice, support end to end recruitment activities and interpret Defence employment frameworks and Defence policies for both ADF and APS employees.
You will be highly regarded for your contemporary experience in end-to-end recruitment, ability to work in a team as well as independently, and your drive to contribute to overall outcomes.
