Our client provides therapies and support to families during the challenges of parenting from pregnancy through to secondary school years.
As a member of the talented team, the Occupational Therapist (OT) will:
* Participate in the assessment, planning, and delivery of OT education and support to families relevant to children and parenting.
* Utilise evidence-based approaches focusing on activities of daily living, developmental assessment and treatment, positive behaviour change, emotional regulation, and family-centred interventions.
* Provide mental health psychotherapy and support if credentialing is available, though this is not a requirement.
* Liaise with the clinical team and communicate with external stakeholders as necessary.
* Facilitate/co-facilitate parent and/or clinician group education using the Centre facilities.
* Conduct occupational assessments and develop treatment plans with meaningful family-centred goals.
* Motivate children and parents and develop rapport to achieve their goals.
* Provide office-based, phone, online, and offsite individual or family consultation in response to referrals.
* Utilise GP Chronic Disease Management Plans (CDMP), GP Mental Health Care Plans (MHCP), and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding for client care and billing.
* Provide expert knowledge and consultation to external professionals, including paediatricians, psychologists, and other allied health service providers.
* Plan and facilitate group therapy sessions.
* Attend self-funded Clinical Supervision if providing mental health services.
* Assist with correspondence, preparation of documents, educational materials, reports, data collection, research collaboration, and funding submissions as needed.
* Participate in team development meetings and facilitate working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
* Contribute to the Centre Newsletter, write blog posts for the website, and participate in marketing requirements as needed.
