Our opportunity
We have an opportunity for an Internal Auditor to join our team covering a parental leave period from March 2025 – January 2026.
You will be responsible for supporting the Internal Audit function in the provision of independent, objective, and high-quality assurance and advisory services designed to assess and improve Mirvac's internal control environment.
You will contribute to the delivery of the annual internal audit program in accordance with Mirvac's engagement standards, on time and within budget.
This role will work on a range of internal audit reviews across all aspects of Mirvac's business.
Your responsibilities will include:
Perform internal audits of Mirvac Group's operations consistent with industry and professional standards for such audits, including assessing adequacy of risk management practices, monitoring compliance with policies and procedures and evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of internal control frameworks across the Group.
Participate in internal audit reviews across the business, including management requested ad hoc reviews.
Contribute to the development of the scope and approach of each engagement, in conjunction with the Internal Audit Manager.
Develop risk-based audit work programs, undertake substantive testing to review compliance with Mirvac policies and procedures and deliver high quality work papers.
Contribute to designing data analytic strategies during audit planning or fieldwork in conjunction with the Internal Audit Manager.
Draft high quality and comprehensive findings outlining factual observations, risk implications and root causes.
Deliver internal audit engagements on time and within budget as allocated by the lead Internal Audit Manager.
Facilitate effective communication with audit stakeholders, including requesting information, explaining audit approach, presenting, and discussing findings.
Assess the adequacy of corrective actions taken by the business to address control deficiencies by undertaking an active finding follow up process.
Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with the Audit team members, Risk and Compliance team and broader operational management.
Anticipate and stay abreast of business trends and key issues, including regulatory requirements, general accounting principles, audit techniques and business practices.
Your point of difference
To be successful you will have experience and proven capacity in internal audit, external audit, or risk management.
Big Four training or property industry experience is highly regarded.
You will be proficient in identifying key risks across a range of financial and operational business processes.
In addition, have a good understanding of applying Internal Audit standards, and auditing techniques to deliver audit engagements.
You will have excellent stakeholder management and be confident building relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally.
