Associate Nurse Unit Manager
Emergency Department & Short Stay Unit

As a leader of the nursing profession, the Associate Nurse Unit Manager assists in setting expectations, developing, planning and managing processes to assess, improve and maintain the profession’s management, clinical, educational and support activities.
Our department currently has around 24,000 presentations per year and includes 16 Emergency cubicles and a 8 bed Short Stay Unit. We offer a friendly, team focused work environment, comprehensive orientation to the department and organisation, in house salary packaging and free car parking.
REQUIREMENTS
* Current registration with AHPRA
* Certificate in Emergency Nursing or other relevant to the ED setting, or working towards same highly regarded
* Recent Emergency Nursing experience
* Excellent organisational skills
* Demonstrated role modelling and leadership ability
* Evidence of recent and relevant continuing professional development
* Well-developed communication, interpersonal, negotiation and problem solving skills
* Willingness to learn new skills with a management focus
* Capacity to undertake special projects and some knowledge of National Standards
* Commitment to oversee the processes required for a quality service with a patient centred focus
* Flexibility and the ability to work all shifts
* A commitment to a team approach to care delivery
IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.

The West Gippsland Healthcare Group is a customer focused health organisation providing acute medical and surgical, obstetric, emergency, residential care and community health services to 45,000 people in the rural, urban residential, agricultural and industrial areas located within the Baw Baw Shire and beyond. The administrative headquarters are located at West Gippsland Hospital in Warragul, approximately 100kms east of Melbourne.
