Nirrumbuk Aboriginal Corporation – Broome WA
Nirrumbuk Aboriginal Corporation (NAC) is a Broome based community organisation managed and owned by Aboriginal members. Our board consists of 11 Indigenous people from Broome and the Dampier Peninsula.
Our primary objectives are to build the capacity of the Aboriginal Community and individuals in the region by fostering self-sufficiency with a key focus on health, housing, education and employment.
NAC is currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic staff to join our team.
1 x Youth & Community Services Manager
2 x Case Support Workers
The Youth & Community Services Manager is responsible for leading and managing the youth & community services team, ensuring program delivery is of a high-quality standard and in line with NAC’s vision and program funding deliverables.
If you are reliable, trustworthy and have a ‘can do’ attitude and can work with minimal supervision, we want you to be a part of our team.
Salary for this position will be paid at $95,000 - $100,000 (depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus superannuation and access to salary packaging.
The preferred candidate will also:
* Be able to communicate clearly and confidently with people from all walks of life.
* Be able to work with others to go above and beyond for participants.
* Be able to work in a computerised environment.
* Possess 2+ years of management experience.
* Possess or working towards relevant management or community services qualification (desirable).
* Knowledge of local Indigenous communities and awareness of the barriers they experience.
* Knowledge of Justice Services, Youth Services and related service providers delivering specialist services to Youth.
* Must have driver’s license.
* Be able to obtain police clearance and working with children.
The Case Support Worker (CSW) is responsible for supporting and strengthening the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth.
This position is key to providing one on one case management to ensure strong, healthy, and resilient individuals, families and communities, which in turn may enhance pathways to education, training and employment; reducing substance abuse, violence and contact with the criminal justice system.
* Minimum of Certificate III or higher qualification from a nationally recognized course in one of the following fields: counselling, psychology, social work, mental health, youth work, Indigenous studies or a related area;
* Minimum of two years’ experience working in a similar field.
* Ability to case manage participants, work un-supervised and use initiative.
* Knowledge of local Indigenous communities and awareness of the barriers they experience.
* Knowledge of Justice Services, Youth Services and related service providers delivering specialist services to Youth.
* Knowledge of computer systems required to record data including databases, excel spreadsheets and word documents.
* Must have driver’s license.
* Be able to obtain police clearance and working with children.
Salary for this position will be paid at $65,000 - $70,000 (depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus superannuation and access to salary packaging.
