About the Role
Our Sustainability Consulting team in Sydney is rapidly expanding and as a result we now have an opportunity for an experienced sustainability professional that can manage the delivery of sustainability projects from strategy through to execution. This role also includes supporting in business and practice development activities through the development of client proposals and market facing collateral, and enhancement of BDO’s sustainability-related tools, processes, and practices by bringing new ideas and thinking to the table.
This is a client-facing consulting role which requires the application of sustainability strategy, transformation and related service delivery experience that will include collaboration with other BDO service lines. The role will also manage and oversee individual and team workload, using project management skills to deliver exceptional service outcomes for all clients.
This role will sit within the Sydney Consulting team, who specialise in developing and executing innovative strategies and operational frameworks to help clients realise their strategic goals.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Advise clients across a range of sectors on value-creating and bespoke sustainability solutions to address sustainability opportunities and challenges including but not limited to: sustainability strategy frameworks, maturity assessments, materiality assessments, roadmap development, transformation support.
* Liaise with client senior management, C-Suite and Boards to ensure engagement objectives are met and engagement risks are mitigated.
* Develop market facing materials about BDO’s sustainability practice (e.g. thought leadership articles, presentations) and contribute to internal capability building through the development of tools and training.
* Support in developing and optimizing national sustainability methodologies to help drive efficiency and consistency across the broader sustainability team.
* Mentor and guide junior team members during client engagements and supporting their professional development.
* Understand and apply the firm’s quality and professional delivery standards required to deliver sustainability services.
About You
Our ideal candidate comes with a strong sustainability consulting background gained within a leading professional services firm, with track record of delivery. This role will suit an individual interested in learning and developing, willing to give and receive constructive feedback and naturally brings a positive, self-motivated approach to the role.
Combined with:
* Demonstrable experience and knowledge of sustainability solutions for clients in response to sustainability challenges.
* Demonstrable experience working with senior stakeholders across a broad range of clients and industries.
* Ability to form strong working relationships with market-leading clients to support their sustainability aspirations.
* Ability to thrive in a collaborative and innovative culture focused on developing strategic solutions that create long term value for clients.
* Relevant tertiary qualification(s) in a related discipline.
* Strong project management, presentation, facilitation, analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
