Regional Development Victoria (RDV) is the Victorian Government's lead agency in supporting the development of rural and regional Victoria. With a focus on facilitating stronger regional economies and communities, Regional Development Victoria works to provide infrastructure, facilities and services; strengthen the economic and social base of communities; and create jobs and strengthen career opportunities for regional Victorians.
Reporting to the Secretary of the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR), the CEO RDV, provides regional policy and thought leadership and oversees the delivery of programs and services, including regional investment attraction.
The CEO is a member of the department’s Executive Board and collaborates with other DJSIR business units, government departments, and regional stakeholders. In particular, the CEO RDV role is focused on economic development in Regional Victoria, with other responsibilities including developing and implementing regional economic strategies, program delivery and administration, capital project delivery, and the effective operation of Regional Partnerships.
As a commercially focused leader you will champion the growth of regional businesses and organisations by removing barriers and facilitating outcomes. You will represent the department in high-level consultations and negotiations across local, state, and national levels. As a key member of the departmental Executive Board, you will also contribute to the strategic vision and direction of the department and manage resources effectively to meet targets and objectives, and foster a safe, inclusive culture that embraces Victorian Public Sector Values.
To be considered for this role, you will be an executive leader with demonstrated experience leading diverse and dispersed teams at a senior level from within industry or the public sector. As a contemporary and visionary leader, you are well respected for your experience in setting strategic direction, delivery of reform and service delivery outcomes. You are also regarded as a collaborative leader with proven experience in economic development, investment facilitation, and community development, with strong strategic, commercial, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills across government, community and industry.
