About the roleWe are seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our Commonwealth Government client as an EL1 Assistant Director. This role is pivotal in delivering a program that involves managing contracts for various projects within the national portfolio. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in capital works project management, design briefing, physical security compliance, contract management, and stakeholder engagement.A permanent s26 transfer is on offer for ongoing APS staff, while a non-ongoing contract for 6 – 12 months will be considered for those not currently employed in the APS.This role can be undertaken in Canberra, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, or Brisbane.Please note: only Australian citizens with an existing security clearance can be considered for this role. Duties: Manage capital works projects to meet time, budget, and stakeholder requirements Oversee the delivery of multiple projects, including funding bids and financial tracking Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and coordinate project risk assessments Implement protective security requirements throughout each project phase Provide strategic advice to senior executives and stakeholders Maintain ongoing project governance and communication Identify and implement improvements in business management practices Lead and coach staff within the Property and Security Branch Requisite skills/experience: Proven experience in capital works project management and governance Strong communication skills Knowledge of protective security requirements and their implementation Capacity to operate under broad direction and perform a leadership role Construction Industry qualifications and experience in one or more of the following is desirable: Project Management Construction/Site Management, or Primary Construction Consultancy (Architecture, Design, or Engineering) Previous experience in delivery of capital works projects for the Commonwealth Culture and benefitsPeople enjoy contracting with relatbl because our business is owned and managed by people who have first-hand experience working as contractors.
