About the role
Are you a strategic communicator with a passion for crafting engaging content? Join us as our Internal Communications Channels and Content Partner and play a key role in shaping the voice, culture, and connectivity of our business! This role is at the heart of keeping our people across Stores, Fulfillment Centres, and Support Offices connected, informed, and inspired. You’ll help shape a shared sense of purpose, a clear vision for the future, and a strategic focus that drives engagement at every level. By planning and creating compelling content, you'll manage and optimize all internal communications channels, always seeking new ways to enhance how we connect and share information. Reporting to the Internal Communications, Events, and Community Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting senior stakeholders, driving key projects, and presenting at a high level. Your proactive mindset and ability to influence will be essential in ensuring our communications continue to inspire and empower teams across the business.
As our Internal Communications Channels and Content Partner, you will:
* Plan, edit, write, proofread, and distribute content across all internal communications channels.
* Create content (talking points, infographics, presentations, videos, etc.) for key events such as internal conferences, Partner Forum, Wesfarmers Annual General Meeting, store openings, end-of-year parties, team volunteering activities, and other purpose-driven events to enhance company culture and stakeholder relationships.
* Provide support for complex issues and urgent communication requests (e.g., incidents).
* Oversee all aspects of internal communications channels, including administration, content management, user experience, and system updates.
* Regularly evaluate the performance of internal communication channels and recommend improvements to boost team member engagement.
* Track and assess the effectiveness of communications channels using key metrics (e.g., engagement rates, viewership, team member feedback) and generate performance reports.
* Advise and support communications activities based on business objectives and stakeholder feedback.

About you
You are a proactive and creative communications expert with a proven ability to build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders at all levels. In your previous roles, you’ve demonstrated success in aligning communication strategies with business and cultural goals. In addition, you will have:
* A minimum of 6+ years’ experience in communications
* Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations or journalism preferred.
* Proven experience working in a retail or complex corporate environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft office suite with experience in Adobe Creative ideal.
* Excellent communications and editing skills – interpersonal, written and presentation.
* Strong stakeholder management and negotiating skills – ability to successfully engage with a large and diverse network of internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
