A fantastic opportunity exists for a senior registered nurse to lead and manage a dynamic and innovative Community Nursing Team. This team prides itself on the ability to enable people to avoid ED and hospital and facilitate early discharge back into the place where they reside.
What You'll be Doing
The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) is in-charge of all aspects of the unit environment and takes overall responsibility for the standard of patient care in the unit. The NUM is pivotal to the coordination of patient care, unit management and leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.

1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
2. Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
3. Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive
4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise
6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the management of the unit and the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
