About your new role:
Energy Queensland has a permanent opportunity for a Senior Field Support Engineer in the Operations Division to join the Engineering Field Support Partnership Services team, based in either Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville or Cairns.
As the Senior Field Support Engineer Partnership, you will be the subject matter expert and take a lead role in providing Registered Professional of Queensland (RPEQ) professional engineering advice, technical support, direction and decisions for construction, testing/commissioning and maintenance activities for Energy Queensland, and Powerlink Queensland assets. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Integrated Works Program, inclusive of technical coaching, training and technical briefing of field staff, along with influencing quality assurance, engineering and technical solutions for construction and commissioning works. Your role will include, real time investigation and reporting of plant failures and plant conditions, including emerging trends, while providing advice, judgement and recommendations that result in timely, return-to-service decisions for Energy Queensland and Powerlink Queensland.
This role is a key engineering contact for Powerlink operational and technical commissioning matters.
With flexi-working and a 9 or 10-day fortnight in place, the bottom of the salary band starts from $199,836 for 10 days + 14.75% superannuation. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position.

About you:
We are seeking candidates with high level of written and oral communication and the ability to problem-solve, along with well-developed interpersonal and negotiating skills as well as:
13. Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering is essential.
14. Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in the area of Electrical is essential.
15. Detailed demonstrated knowledge of substation asset construction, testing/commissioning and maintenance activities and practices with a focus on providing professional engineering services and technical support for non-standard and external customer commissioning and maintenance works.
16. Demonstrated experience providing expert technical advice and recommendations, including technical risk identification and mitigation in relation to compliance, constructability, testing and commissioning activities for external works.
17. ‘C’ Class licence essential as this position will require you to travel regularly.
18. Availability to participate in a standby roster.
