The duties and responsibilities comprised the following, but not limited to:
* Ensure that all computer systems run with minimum or no down time.
* Configuration, integration and deployment of associated PCs (with Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 Operating System), software and peripherals.
* As an administerPro-actively proving progress information to users on outstanding support calls.
* Responsible for implementation, administration & troubleshooting of Network and Security Infrastructure including Routers, Switches (Cisco), Firewalls.
* Managing the internet connectivity and troubleshooting LAN / WAN issues
* Administrating the servers and workstations. Ensures that the computer system (both hardware and software) is fully accounted for, properly maintained and in good working condition.
* Maintaining the network infrastructure, providing recommendations for the better performance, installing and configuring the services on the network.
* Installation, configuration of Windows Server 2012 R2. Also, configuration and management of DHCP and DNS
* Responsible for taking weekly and monthly Server/ Network backup
* Responsible for installing the software specific updates as well as the licence key on the server.
* Identify faults and errors by network audits and recommend security controls to eliminate or minimize the potential effects.
* Provide technical support to all vet resources and eLearning portal users and client/subscribers.
* Provide orientation, training and application support to new starters for key applications utilized at the vet advisory group
* Responsible for managing active directory
* Responsible for providing support to mobile technologies (including iOS and Android)
* Responsible for configuring and maintaining phone system
* Responsible for installation, configuration and troubleshooting issues related to printers/scanners and faxes.
* Responsible for preparation and updating the training manual and workflow guides for key applications used at vet advisory group
* Web-site / intranet content management
* Develop accurate monthly data reports for dissemination across all levels of management at vet advisory group
* Manage error validation processes required to ensure timely preparation of monthly reports and statutory extracts
* Ensure system and data security is maintained at high standard, ensuring the integrity of the vet advisory group network is not compromised
* Liaising with external consultants for the procurement of information and technology(ICT) equipment and scheduling of maintenance activities as required
* Responsible for the compilation and maintenance of accurate inventory of hardware and software
* Responsible for the complication of technical projects and undertake other relevant duties directed by Manager.
Qualifications and other requirements
1. Diploma or higher-level qualifications or equivalent in Information technology or other relevant field.
2. A recent minimum of three years of relevant experience working as a computer network engineer in the last five years.
3. A valid driver license with your own reliable vehicle.
4. Ability to work independently and without supervision.
5. Ability to work effectively as part of team and provide leadership to a small team.
6. Demonstrate problem-solving skills and experience with diagnostics
7. Good oral communication skills.
8. Ability work with flexible hours including weekends.
