About Us: Bidgerdii Community Health Service is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled primary health care service, operating in the Rockhampton and Central Queensland region for close to 30 years. The organisation is a bulk billing community-controlled health service, managed by a Board of Directors who oversee and manage the strategic directions of the service. Bidgerdii provides comprehensive primary health and well-being services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the Rockhampton and surrounding regions. Bidgerdii collaborates with health and well-being partner agencies to enable integrated continuity of care for the community and continue to work to contribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health policy and program reform in Queensland. About the Role: This position is located within Rockhampton-Corporate Office, and forms part of the Corporate Services team. The primary focus of this position is to support the Finance team in effective financial management and administration of the Organisation. The role involves assisting the finance team to ensure financial transactions are efficiently processed and financial records are accurately maintained so that financial reporting supports management of Bidgerdii’s operations and governance requirements and further to assists staff with administrative matters. Duties may include but not limited to: Banking: Assist with the preparation of appropriate documentation for all deposits, including online banking. Accounts Payable: Review all invoices for accuracy. Accounts receivable: Assist with recording all other receipts and deposits via the bank statements and enter into MYOB. MBS Claim: Receive payments, bill exception reports and adjust and follow up on any exclusions/outstanding claims. Administration: Assist with maintaining the monthly payment register. Credit Cards: Ensure the Corporate Credit Card is reconciled and supported by appropriate documentation and process payment before the due date to avoid late fees. Travel and Accommodation: Assist HR team to prepare all travel and accommodation requirements for all personnel once travel and accommodation has CEO/CSM approval. About You: You a compassionate, optimistic individual wanting to make a difference in people’s lives especially our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and also have the following: Possess a minimum Senior Secondary Certificate year 10 or equivalent with an interest in working in finance. Be willing to immediately commence and complete a Certificate III in Finance while conducting on the job learning. Ability to work proactively as part of a team and independently to meet deadlines couples with attention to detail. Willingness to show initiative and received training from experiences mentors, received feedback. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the operations of a computerised accounting system (MYOB) and the use of Microsoft Office. Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills coupled with a high level of professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm. Excellent customer service skills including a commitment to quality customer service, and the capacity to exercise initiative, discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Ability to manage completing priorities and deliver timely outcomes with limited supervision. Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders societies and cultures and an understanding of the issues, particularly in the health area which are affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, as well as, a demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Practical Requirements: Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD) – essential Immunisation requirements – It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A, COVID19 and pertussis (whooping cough) during their employment.
