LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Salary: 68K-70K plus super

Since inception, Geotesta has successfully completed projects including land development, residential and commercial buildings, road and water infrastructure, and mining projects. Our core business is providing engineering services to local and state governments and authorities, land developers, builders and contractors, architects and other consultants.
The Role
The Lab Technician’s primary role is to perform sampling, testing and reviewing of test results of construction materials samples according to relevant standards, while ensuring quality and accuracy of test results and adhering to safe operating procedures and guidelines. This role undertakes both field and laboratory testing. Additionally, this role involves maintaining equipment in good operating order and performing internal verifications of lab equipment as required. Maintaining positive relationships with clients and stakeholders is another essential requirement of this role.
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following:
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role, including field experience
Experience in working with Australian and other relevant construction materials testing standards
Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or Diploma in Laboratory Operations (or other relevant qualifications) – highly desirable
Hold drivers’ licence and Construction White Card
Nuclear Density Gauge licence (advantageous)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Sound level of literacy, computer literacy and numeracy skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to analyse and solve problems using initiative
Valid work rights in Australia (unrestricted)
