Desert Blue Connect is seeking a Primary Prevention Coordinator for Geraldton and the Midwest. This role will be responsible for building the capacity of Midwest communities to prevent family and domestic violence by embedding sustainable primary prevention initiatives.The successful candidate will take on a leadership role to steer collaborative projects aimed at preventing family and gender-based violence. This includes leading the Community Respect and Equality Project (CRE) which works with committed organizations within the region to educate individuals and alter attitudes that may lead to family violence. The Primary Prevention Coordinator will also develop resources and tools to support community partners to embed initiatives across diverse community settings.This role can be either part time or full time.Key Responsibilities:Experience working in the area of family and domestic violence intervention or prevention.Understanding of family and domestic violence at-risk groups and communities.Relevant tertiary qualifications in health/social sciences/project management or equivalent experience.Demonstrated ability in building networks and engaging community stakeholders.Excellent communication and facilitation skills.Demonstrated ability to work in a team and independently.Ability to work after hours including early evening and weekends occasionally.Ability to travel within the Midwest.Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate sustainable prevention initiatives.Knowledge of national and state frameworks which address gender-based violence.Understanding of policy related to gender equality and FDV.Previous project management experience including grant writing and acquittal.Experience in developing marketing and communication strategies.This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extending.Applicants are invited to send a current CV and a cover letter addressing criteria to ****@desertblueconnect.org.auApplications close 5pm, Friday 13th December 2024; however, Desert Blue Connect may commence interviews prior to that with suitable applicants.
