Duties
1. Provide advice and work with a range of stakeholders, including Local Government, to facilitate the provision of appropriate and well-planned infrastructure projects that support sport, recreation and physical activity in Tasmania.
2. Manage the development and production of resources to support the planning and development of facilities and environments to support participation in sport, recreation and physical activity within Tasmania.
3. Direct and prioritise the Facilities team resources to best achieve the goals of objectives of Active Tasmania in accordance with ministerial direction and government priorities.
4. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies covering key areas including open space, facility provision, resource sharing, outdoor recreation, and risk management to ensure the successful delivery of Active Tasmania’s objectives and outcomes.
5. Identify and respond to emerging sport, recreation and physical activity infrastructure issues and trends through the development and maintenance of positive relationships with key stakeholders.
6. Provide high level briefing notes, correspondence, documentation, ministerial correspondence on issues as required and manage the appraisal of relevant grant applications as required.
