Initial Project: You will be site-based on a $35M new build retail / shopping centre project in the Ipswich region. A D&C project, you will be placed on this development from start through to handover across an 18-month period. The project involves a new supermarket and additional retail tenancies. The role: In this position, reporting to the Site Manager you'll work as a 2IC Leading Hand Foreman, playing a key support role to the Management and day-to-day running of the site. Your duties will include: Site inductions and toolbox talks. Delivery and logistic management. WHSE / site safety management. Help manage trades across the construction life cycle from structure through to internal finishes. Use of industry software including Procore and Hammertech. Read and work off construction plans. Communication and management of sub-contractors and trades on site. Identify, rectify and manage defect works. Use initiative to keep job running smoothly in the absence of the Site Manager. To be suitable for the role, it is anticipated that you will possess the following: A carpentry trade background – key. Cert III a minimum. 1-2 years site supervisory skills as a Leading Hand / Junior Foreman with recognised Australian commercial and refurbishment building contractors. Experience with established, reputable contractors with established systems in place. Experience on large commercial sites and/or refurbishment projects in the commercial space. Knowledge of the full project life cycle from structures to finishes. Possess a 'can-do' positive attitude and be happy to work on the tools from time to time. Career-focused, with a positive attitude and a desire to progress through to Site Foreman. Happy to embrace systems and processes in-keeping with the mid-tier commercial construction space.
