Sydney Investment Banking Contract or Temporary
Our client, a large and diverse financial services firm, seeks a Trading Desk Applications Support Specialist to join their Sydney office, working with a global production support team. The team is responsible for day-to-day regional support of Capital Markets Brokerage Trading Applications.
This position requires experience in Order Management Systems (OMS), specifically direct experience working in support of an investment banking or capital markets trading floor.
Key Responsibilities:
* The successful candidate will provide technical and functional desk support across multiple technologies used by Brokerage Capital Market applications.
* Support business and operations partners and clients, liaising with upstream and downstream application teams.
* Candidates should be available Monday – Friday and be prepared to escalate from the business and/or team members as needed.
* The ideal candidate will have a good understanding and/or functional expertise in brokerage or any other OMS trading support functions.
The ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of various technologies in a financial institution, including trade applications.
Required Skills/Experience:
* Previous financial markets experience is required, ideally with OMS experience in direct support of a trading team.
* Ability to communicate confidently with traders, requiring excellent oral and written communication skills and a solid understanding of technologies in financial institutions.
* 1-2 years of FIX Protocol experience are required.
* A reasonably in-depth functional and/or industry knowledge of Brokerage / Security Finance is required.
* ~3-7 years of work experience in any OMS, ideally Flextrade, is highly regarded.
* Experience working in Onsite/Offshore models, particularly supporting APAC, UK, and US business lines.
* Incident management experience, understanding of ticket workflows, and use of escalation are required. Experience with ServiceNow/ITIL Methodologies is mandatory.
* Highly flexible and adaptable to change, with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Problem resolution skills, using analytical and logical reasoning to troubleshoot root causes and resolve production incidents.
This role pays a high hourly rate of $80–$95 per hour (including super) dependent on prior experience.
