The Role: As a trainer, you will be responsible for the delivery of focussed foundational skills that will equip participants with the confidence and skills to pursue further vocational training and/or employment. The role will focus on literacy and numeracy development of each participant through a range of hands-on activities, with the support of mentors to assist the trainer and participants to achieve their goals. Working with other team members, you will be delivering both accredited and non-accredited training for participants from the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) levels 1-3 in Literacy, Language, Numeracy and Digital Skills within an arts context with a goal of all participants successfully completing ACSF level 3. Your actions will always be culturally appropriate, respectful and collaborative. Your Journey with Us: To ensure success in your role as a SEE Program Trainer, you will: Build, Maintain and deliver workshops and activities that facilitate learning to build employability skills and knowledge for Aboriginal job seekers, scaffolding learning from individual confidence through to meeting employer expectations. Be a valuable contributor to the Saltbush learning environment that ensures active engagement of diverse learners towards self-discovery and foundation skills development. Provide practical learner support to those with learning needs to achieve intended outcomes. Work with the SEE program team sharing accountability for individual participant progress and completions. Collaborate with support Tutors and Mentors regarding the program and activities relevant to participant learning goals. Provide a learning environment that ensures active engagement of diverse learners towards self-discovery and skills development. Provide practical learner support to those with learning needs to achieve intended outcomes. Collaborate with Saltbush Mentors and Counsellor to understand how learning activities contribute to individual participant plans and goals. Collaborate with broader Saltbush team to utilise shared internal services; finance, recruitment, IT, marketing, risk and quality management. Assist with the updating of participant registers, files, and documents for internal and external use. What You Bring: At least five years’ experience in the facilitation of foundation skills delivery and or transfer of soft skills and employability skills through structured but flexible learning activities. Understanding of Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) & Digital Literacy Skills Framework (DLSF) to inform learning activities and outcomes Demonstrable expertise, knowledge and skills in the vocational contextualisation and assessment of the core skill Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation. Ability to prioritise and meet timelines, with capacity to work effectively either independently or within a team as needed. Well developed written and verbal communication skills. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of Equal Opportunity principles and develop appropriate strategies to incorporate these into the learning environment. Completed the following or equivalent: TAESS00009 Address Foundation Skills in Vocational Practice Skill Set; or a higher level education qualification, such as: TAE80113 Graduate Diploma of Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice (and its equivalent TAE70111); or Bachelor of Education, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma of Education, or higher. This may include qualifications relating to TESOL, adult education or vocational education.
