Salary: MDP3 - $148,753 - $154,702 p.a.+ Superannuation & Salary Sacrifice Benefits Bedford Park SA, 5042 - Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) Full Time, Contracted Role up to 3 years About the role The IR Fellow is responsible for assisting in the provision of interventional radiology and vascular services at Flinders Medical Centre under the guidance of Consultant Interventional Radiologists.The position involves specific experience and training in interventional radiology including endovascular procedures, computed tomography (CT) and fluoroscopic guided non-vascular intervention, percutaneous liver procedures, nephrostomy insertion, and abscess drainage.There may be an opportunity to work with Interventional Neuro-Radiologists.This is a fellowship position for a radiologist who has obtained their Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR).For a full-time position, the IR Fellow will have a minimum of three days gaining specific experience and training in interventional radiology in the angiography suite or performing interventional CT/ultrasound procedures, one-and-a-half days reporting diagnostic radiology/MRI/clinical meetings, and half a day per week for study/research as per SAMI Flinders Medical Centre Radiology needs.The IR Fellow is also encouraged to participate in the teaching of registrars and join the tutorial roster in the department.The IR Fellow may be required to participate in non-interventional radiology clinical duties.The IR Fellow will have access to meetings, lectures, tutorials, and research facilities in SAMI Flinders Medical Centre.They will also be involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.The IR Fellow will undertake research projects/audits in relation to interventional radiology and will be encouraged to present at national and international meetings.Attendance at appropriate clinical and multidisciplinary meetings is required.They will be an active participant in the relevant meetings, including the vascular meeting, the urology meeting, and the renal meeting.The IR Fellow will take part in an evening/weekend/public holidays out-of-hours radiology registrar and interventional radiology roster.About us Statewide Clinical Support Services (SCSS) is a unique public healthcare organisation that serves health consumers and provides specialist clinical services to the health system in South Australia.SCSS encompasses BreastScreen SA, SA Dental, SA Medical Imaging, SA Pathology, and SA Pharmacy.Come and work with us to improve the health and well-being of South Australians, across all age groups and at any time of their life or health need.FMC has an angiography suite with a Siemens Artis Zee single plane digital subtraction angiography machine and a Canon (Toshiba) Aquilion One ViSION computed tomography (CT) scanner with dedicated booking times for CT guided interventional procedures.The interventional radiology case load covers traditional vascular cases (central venous access, peripheral angioplasty, trauma related arterial embolisation, and dialysis fistula maintenance), oncology cases (microwave ablation of solid tumours and transarterial chemoembolisation), limited interventional neuroradiology cases (aneurysm coiling), and biopsies predominantly under CT guidance (including supporting the statewide bone and soft tissue tumour service) in both adult and paediatric patients.What we offer Attractive salary packaging available Strong community-minded culture and values providing world-class care to South Australians Opportunity for movement across the SA Health system: There are always opportunities for you to develop your skills and your career at one of our many metropolitan or regional sites Educational/Vocational Qualifications Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.Obtained a Specialist Qualification and is registrable as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration.
