As a Mechanical Leading Hand you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of a team of mechanics and tradespeople, ensuring efficient and safe maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and systems.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and direct a team of mechanical staff, assigning tasks and prioritising workloads.
Provide technical guidance and support to team members, assisting with complex repairs and troubleshooting for waste-management trucks.
Ensure all work is performed to required standards and complies with safety regulations.
Coordinate with other departments or contractors to ensure smooth operations.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and equipment status.
Contribute to a positive team environment and promote a strong safety culture.
Qualifications:
Relevant trade qualification as a Mechanic.
Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of relevant equipment and systems.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to procedures.
What is being offered:
Hourly rate: $52ph + penalties and overtime
Afternoon shift: from 12PM to 9PM Mon-Fri
