This role will be responsible for leading and shaping the creative expression of Hillsong Church, ensuring visually compelling and mission-aligned content across all platforms. Through strategic direction, team mentorship, and design excellence, this role will inspire innovation, uphold brand integrity, and bring Hillsong’s story to life globally. Other aspects of this role include: Creative Direction and Leadership Helping to develop and lead the creative vision for Hillsong Church, ensuring alignment with the church's mission while inspiring and empowering individuals and teams to deliver innovative, impactful Christ-centered creative expressions. Collaborate closely with the Global Support Team to ensure creative initiatives align with Hillsong Church's global mission, effectively communicate key messages and inspire engagement across all communities. Maintain leadership and design expertise within all projects. Shaping and driving the highest standards in design & producing concepts in collaboration with internal departments. Team Mentorship Lead, mentor, and inspire a team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Provide guidance, feedback, and professional development to support individual and team growth, enhancing skills within the global communications team and extending support to Hillsong’s global campuses and teams where feasible. Cultivate a collaborative team environment where creativity flourishes while ensuring alignment with the church’s vision and values. Strategy and Innovation Stay current with design and digital trends, ensuring creative work remains relevant, innovative, and effective. Strategise and execute campaigns that align content with the Hillsong Church mission and values, while encouraging audience engagement. Drive the adoption of relevant developments and new ideas to grow creative platforms within the global communications team continuously. Project Oversight and Execution Oversee the end-to-end creative process, from concept development to final execution. Manage multiple creative projects simultaneously, maintaining a high standard of excellence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, using project management systems to assist in team collaboration and communication on projects. Provide clear creative direction and feedback throughout the project. Uphold the brand across all platforms, ensuring a cohesive visual identity. Evaluate and refine creative processes to improve efficiency, innovation, and overall team performance. Multimedia Design and Animation Create high-quality visual content. Stay up-to-date with emerging design technologies and industry best practices, integrating new tools and techniques to enhance visual storytelling. Ideally, the successful candidate will bring : Demonstrated creative talent with a strong aptitude for storytelling through design, particularly within a Christian ethos and values framework. Experience in multimedia-based design, including animation for promotional purposes. Proficiency in film editing and an understanding of content design for different media and platforms. Experience working within a faith-based, not-for-profit team environment, managing projects within tight budgets and deadlines. Creative Direction & Storytelling Highly skilled in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Dreamweaver) and multimedia design software (Cinema 4D, Flash, Blender), ensuring high-quality creative output. Deep understanding of how design translates across cultures and demographics, ensuring accessibility and engagement. Skilled in strategic content creation to maximize reach and positive outcomes. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams, work effectively in a faith-based environment, and manage multiple stakeholders globally. Proven ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain creative excellence across time zones while working within budget constraints.
