Overview
The Registered Nurse will contribute to the delivery of high quality person centred care to patients and residents at the Gumeracha District Soldiers Memorial Hospital. You will provide direct nursing care to Acute, Aged Care and Transition Care Package (TCP) patients, as well as contributing to the effective management of Accident and Emergency presentations. It is expected that you will have responsibility for after-hours management of the hospital, and contribute to the supervision and mentoring of Enrolled Nurses, Direct Care Attendants and Student Nurses. Enjoying close-knit community involvement and family friendly rostering, you will have the opportunity to expand and develop your country nursing skills in a friendly and supportive environment. Gumeracha District Soldiers Memorial Hospital provides acute services ranging from in-hospital care for adults and children by local general practitioners to outpatients and aged care services. The hospital has a 24 hour accident and emergency department and day therapy centres.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated competence in nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a country health setting.
