Our services span from initial planning and investment, through start-up and operations.Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.Job Summary:The E&I Supervisor is responsible for planning and conducting work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, adaptation, and modification of standard techniques, guidelines, procedures, and criteria. Devising new approaches to startup, maintenance, operation, or testing. Ensuring scope of the associated electrical work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with the project safety standards, the project quality standards, and the design/specifications as well as performing general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.Major Responsibilities:Ensures that Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility. Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of Pre-Commissioning/Commissioning/Start-up activities. Actively participates in safety programs.Receives operational surveillance, administrative supervision and technical guidance from a CSU Electrical Lead or Pre-Commissioning Manager. Objectives are defined, and results are subject to supervisory review. Receives day-to-day supervision from CSU Electrical Lead.Establishes and maintains contacts with client, supplier, regulatory bodies, project management, engineering, and field personnel. Represents startup on project teams as assigned.Coordinates startup between project engineering, construction, specialty staff groups, clients, and vendors.Inputs to project management, engineering, and construction to ensure startup requirements are incorporated into project activities, including review of project designs and construction to ensure plant operability and operating personnel safety.Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of startup, operations, or maintenance for a project, including reviews of designs for plant operability and safety and jobsite precommissioning and startup as directed. Performs work that involves conventional practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting requirements, unsuitability of conventional methods, or difficult coordination requirements.Education and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge and Abilities:Technical knowledge of startup, operation, maintenance, and testing.Knowledge of engineering systems and calculations, applications of both engineering and startup methods, and application of computers to engineering problems.Extensive knowledge of precedents in the startup and operations areas and a broad knowledge of principles and practices of related areas.Broad knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and criteria pertinent to startup, maintenance, operations, or testing.Strong supervision experience including the ability to lead and manage change is desirable.Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner. Collaborates well in a team environment.Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.We are a 2024 Circle Back Initiative Employer & commit to respond to every applicant.Additional Information:This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e., respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e., cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.This position is available to both local and non-local personnel.
