A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.About the OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join the growing ASC Tax Team and assist in meeting tax compliance and reporting requirements for the Australian group, as well as its foreign subsidiaries and branches.As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of tax compliance obligations for the ASC Group, providing tax advisory support across the organisation and driving continuous improvement within the Group Tax Team.Since being selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build Australia’s nuclear-powered submarines, ASC has experienced significant growth and expansion into foreign jurisdictions, resulting in a range of new international tax obligations. The Senior Tax Accountant will play a pivotal role in assisting ASC to satisfy these obligations.This is a full time, permanent position based in Adelaide.ResponsibilitiesOversee the delivery of all tax compliance activities for the ASC Group in Australia and the foreign jurisdictions in which it operates.Oversee the delivery of half-year and full year tax effect accounting calculations, financial statement disclosures and monthly tax accounting journals.Assist with the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and calculations for the ASC Group.Provide accurate and timely ad-hoc tax advice as required by the Group Tax Manager.Support the Group Tax Manager to drive continuous improvement of the Group Tax Team, including identifying opportunities to improve tax processes, policies and manuals.Build and cultivate relationships within the broader ASC business to increase tax knowledge and awareness across the organisation.Provide assistance and guidance to the Corporate Finance Team on tax matters, tax payment forecasting and other financial accounting assistance where required.Develop and mentor team members at the Tax Accountant level.About youTertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance or Accounting.CA / CPA certification.Graduate Diploma of Taxation / Professional Membership in the Taxation Institute of Australia (highly desirable).Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate taxation roles with strong working knowledge of Australian taxation law (including income tax, FBT, GST and employment taxes).Demonstrated knowledge of international corporate taxation including managing tax obligations for foreign subsidiaries, permanent establishments and transfer pricing.Strong working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, corporate statutory reporting requirements and financial arrangements.Sound working knowledge of Tax Risk Management and Governance Frameworks requirements of Top 1000 taxpayers and experience in reviewing/improving tax governance policies, procedures and controls.Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, tax technology (CCH Integrator) and Microsoft Excel to support the delivery of tax deliverables.EligibilityThis role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
