Role Requirements Proven senior management experience in the industrial, electrical, or service sectors. Strong leadership and people management skills, focusing on performance and accountability. In-depth knowledge of ISO standards and compliance requirements. Financial acumen with experience in managing profitability, margins, and operational cost control. Proficiency in using business software systems such as Xero and Simpro. Business development experience and strong client relationship management skills. Key Qualifications, Experience, and Skills: Proven business management experience in the industrial, electrical, or service sectors. Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. Experience managing implementation of ISO-certified operations (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001). Financial management experience, including budgeting, margin control, and operational cost optimisation. Business development experience, particularly in renewables, utilities, or heavy industry. Proficiency with business systems such as Xero and Simpro for financial and operational management. Your New Role As General Manager at AMG Electrical Solutions, your primary role will be to ensure the seamless day-to-day operation of the business while implementing strategic initiatives to drive excellence. You will ensure operational efficiency and compliance with industry standards and lead the team to achieve key performance outcomes. You’ll work closely with the Business Owner to implement the company’s long-term vision while overseeing process improvements and technology integration to enhance business performance. Key Areas of Responsibility 1. Strategic Leadership and Execution Purpose: To lead AMG Electrical Solutions towards its long-term strategic objectives and ensure strategies are effectively implemented to drive business growth. Responsibilities: Develop and execute strategic plans in collaboration with the Business Owner. Break down strategic goals into actionable initiatives and oversee their implementation. Lead market expansion efforts, mergers, and acquisitions. Implement reporting dashboards to monitor key business metrics. 2. Team Leadership and Accountability Purpose: To build, manage, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring accountability and alignment with company objectives. Responsibilities: Set clear performance metrics and KPIs for team members. Implement structured performance management processes, including regular feedback and reviews. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the team. Oversee recruitment, training, and development of team members to ensure the business has the skills needed for growth. 3. Operational Excellence and Compliance Purpose: To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the business, driving continuous improvement and maintaining compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations with a focus on resource planning, productivity, and service delivery. Ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001) and other regulatory requirements. Spearhead process improvements and technology integration, including optimising systems such as Xero and Simpro. Manage risk and compliance through regular audits, assessments, and safety protocols. 4. Business Development and Client Relations Purpose: To drive business growth by identifying new opportunities and maintaining strong client relationships. Responsibilities: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the industrial and renewable sectors. Develop and implement strategies for client acquisition and retention. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. Represent AMG Electrical Solutions at industry events and networking opportunities to expand market presence. 5. Financial Stewardship and Profitability Management Purpose: To ensure the financial health and profitability of the business through effective financial oversight. Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Finance Manager to monitor financial performance, including P&L, margins, and cash flow. Ensure accurate quoting, margin control, and cost management across projects. Provide regular financial analysis to the Business Owner and Board to support business decisions. Identify and mitigate financial risks to ensure long-term sustainability.
