We’re looking for a Design and Technical Manager to join our Brisbane and Sunshine Coast team.The Design and Technical Manager needs to be technically astute in patio, carport and deck building. The role is critical to the business as it’s a key contact for customers and responsible for overseeing the Design Consultants and pre-vetting contracts for all projects. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable and experienced in patio and residential structural design, navigating engineering specifications, estimating materials and project coordination.In this role, you will:Check and ensure all project contracts, designs and costings are correct and compliant from a building and engineering perspective.Be the 2IC to the Building Supervisor and owners of the business.Facilitate training for the team of Design Consultants and be responsive to their engineering-related questions.Oversee internal operations and be a go-to person for the administration and production staff and builders to deliver the best outcomes for customers and the business.Be the internal expert on the product range, engineering manual and QBCC building regulations.Check measure and order materials for decks and supervise all the construction of all deck builds.Troubleshoot and manage complex situations to resolve and address maintenance concerns, building or materials issues.Manage relationships with customers, suppliers and the manufacturer to deliver positive outcomes for warranty-related queries.Engage with walk-in customers to prepare quotes and speak with them about their project and suitability of the Apollo product range.Maintain accurate information within the company systems.We’re looking for someone with:Ability to hit the ground running, with 8-10+ years’ experience in a similar role in the patio industry or building/construction sector.Depth of understanding in working to and digesting engineering and building codes.Demonstrated leadership skills, who is self-lead, self-managed and self-directed.A logical thinker and confident communicator with a positive and enthusiastic approach.Ability to negotiate to reach beneficial outcomes and build relationships with customers and suppliers.Superior skills in problem solving and willingness to navigate and tackle issues in a professional and timely manner.Solid proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.Highly organised, accurate and strong attention to detail.Demonstrated ability to deliver results and complete projects in a high-pressure environment.Reliability to turn up on time, and available to liaise with builders from 7am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 7am to 4pm on Fridays.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?How many years' experience do you have as a Technical Manager?
