Engineering Technologist – Mulgrave, VIC
Kogan People Solutions are working with a leading contract manufacturer specialising in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and therapeutic goods, based in Mulgrave, Victoria.
With over 60 years of experience, the company offers comprehensive services, including product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance. Their state-of-the-art facility houses multiple GMP mixing suites and over 20 production lines, enabling the production of a diverse range of liquid products such as lotions, ointments, gels, and aerosols.
About the role:
Our client has experienced significant growth in operational capacity and are now seeking an experienced and qualified Engineering Technologist to join their busy team. This role will allow you to utilise your skills and experience to optimise the manufacturing processes within the business. The role is full time and ongoing.
Location: Mulgrave, VIC
Salary: Negotiable in the range of $70k to $80K plus superannuation per annum.
Role and Responsibilities:
Production Line Configuration
Configure the production line to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
Periodic Preventive Checks
Conduct periodic preventive checks as part of configuration and manufacturing changeover requests to minimize downtime and maintain equipment reliability.
Production Line KPI Review
Review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across the production line, including Output Line Speed and Fill Rates, and assist in the development of new programs for custom order processing to meet throughput and performance benchmarks.
Manufacturing Changeover Tasks
Undertake necessary replacements of moulds, change parts, jigs, and other equipment as part of the manufacturing changeover process.
Document Log Preparation
Prepare and maintain document logs for production batches and configurations to meet audit and reference requirements.
Control Board and Machine Settings Analysis
Analyze control board and machine settings to ensure all KPIs are met according to approved requirements and flowcharts.
Workplace Health and Safety Compliance
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards, and promote the effective use of protective equipment during machine operations.
Production Line Testing
Perform tests on production lines to ensure that current amperage, voltage supply, and other parameters are consistent with specified standards.
Technical Support and Guidance
Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues and apprentices, ensuring their adherence to training requirements and proper procedures.
Quality Sample Analysis
Collect and analyze samples from production batches during initial runs to ensure the quality of outcomes aligns with acceptable standards.
Safety Device Installation Compliance
Ensure that safety devices (guarding) and other equipment are installed correctly before and after the completion of production runs.
Assistance with Line Setups and Changeovers
Guide teams in line setups, changeovers, and other tasks required to complete production runs efficiently and effectively.
Production and Maintenance Planning Assistance
Work with other managers and supervisors in preparing and implementing production, maintenance, and other operational plans.
About you:
- You will have a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a highly relevant engineering field.
- You will have at least 3 or more years' post-graduate work experience (preferably much more) as an Engineering Technologist.
- You are a skilled Engineering Technologist with strong skills across all areas of the manufacturing process.
- You are a strong people manager.
- You have excellent negotiation and time management skills.
- You have highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
- You pride yourself on being a creative problem solver.
You must have unrestricted Australian working rights to be considered.
