Pacific region's largest and most experienced Travel Retail operator Over 150 stores across Australia, New Zealand and Noumea 2000 passionate team members Exciting Airport environment, brand new Retail stores About the role We are on the lookout for enthusiastic Retail Area Manager to join our team at Darwin Airport. You will oversee our operation of a beautiful, brand-new 800 sqm Relay Store in the Domestic terminal, and a new and exciting concept launching soon in the international terminal To be successful, you will need: Proven experience in a fast-paced senior retail management role (for example, managing a large format store, or multiple small-format store locations). A high level of energy, internal motivation and a genuine desire to succeed. The successful candidate will be a result-oriented, confident leader. Strong commercial acumen and a high level of understanding of retail metrics, including sales, wages and qualitative performance indicators (Average Transaction Value, Units Per Transaction). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Flexibility to work a rotating roster that includes early mornings, late nights and weekends. Permanent residency or citizenship. You will be responsible for: Leading our team of approximately 50 people, including two Store Managers. Driving sales by ensuring we deliver an exceptional customer experience. You will ensure that our standard of customer service, visual merchandising, and operation efficiency is excellent. Managing operational expenditure by having close oversight of wages and overhead costs. You will ensure that we operate professionally, efficiently and safely within our allocated budgets. Ensuring safety and regulatory compliance protocols are strictly adhered to. Communicating regularly with your Operations Manager and our Support Office team, to ensure the stores have what they need, and to enable our business to take full advantage of any opportunities in the local area. Participating in regular meetings with external stakeholders, including the airport’s management team. Why join us?
