The AODS and Specialist Teams at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Mental Health Clinician (Occupational Therapist or Psychologist or Social Worker or Clinical Nurse) to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity
The Mental Health Clinician (Clinical Nurse) provides nursing services within the health service settings; and is responsible for a portfolio with a focus on clinical care/leadership, management, education and/or research. The activities are predominantly clinical in nature, but also provide support to a Nurse Grade 7 or above in management activities.
About the Team
Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service
The Mental Health and AOD Service is comprised of eight clinical teams across the MHHS. The Mental Health Service is responsible for the provision of comprehensive, specialised mental health assessment and treatment services across the age-spectrum for people with severe and complex mental health problems. Our services aim to be consumer focused and recovery oriented and are provided in a variety of settings including community, an acute inpatient unit, hospitals and emergency departments.
AODS and Specialist Teams
The Alcohol and Other Drugs service aims to build safe and healthy communities by taking action to minimise the health, social, and economic harms caused by alcohol and other drugs. The Mackay Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides a specialist and comprehensive service across the continuum of alcohol and other drug assessment, intervention and community maintenance/aftercare. The service is supportive of the client and their family/carer through child and family sensitive practice. The team use a harm minimisation approach within a case management model of service delivery, offer an intake service, and also provide services to the Queensland Police Service and Department of Corrections via the Queensland Illicit Drug Diversion Initiative, offering scheduled appointments for both Police and Court Diversion clients.
