Sezar Restaurant is seeking a dedicated and innovative Chef to join our dynamic team!About Us: Sezar is an acclaimed restaurant located in the heart of Melbourne, offering a unique fusion of traditional Armenian flavours with a modern Australian twist. Known for its vibrant dishes and emphasis on quality ingredients, Sezar is dedicated to delivering an exceptional dining experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:•Prepare and cook dishes according to the Sezar menu, ensuring quality, consistency, and presentation align with restaurant standards.•Collaborate with the Head Chef and culinary team to develop new recipes and menu items that reflect the restaurant's unique culinary style and vision.•Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, delegating tasks and ensuring they adhere to standard operating procedures and quality standards.•Consistently monitor the quality of food being prepared, ensuring that dishes meet Sezar's high standards for taste, presentation, and portion sizes.•Communicate effectively with restaurant managers, dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff to address food preparation concerns, menu modifications, or special dietary needs.•Demonstrate culinary techniques to kitchen staff, providing advice on cooking procedures, best practices, and maintaining consistency in dish preparation and presentation.•Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed, maintaining inventory records and reducing wastage.•Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and occupational health and safety standards.•Foster a positive team environment by supporting and motivating kitchen staff, working closely with the front-of-house team to deliver a seamless dining experience.•Assist in managing food costs, portion control, and inventory to meet budget requirements.Qualifications:•Certificate III & IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (Preferred but not mandatory)Other Skills and Requirements: •At least 2 years proven experience in a similar chef role, with a high-quality restaurant setting. •Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and an ability to adapt and innovate with ingredients.•Proven ability to lead and mentor kitchen staff in a collaborative manner.•Good communication skills to liaise effectively with managers, dietitians, team members, and front-of-house staff.•High attention to detail in food preparation, presentation, and adherence to recipes.•A genuine passion for creating and delivering exceptional food experiences.
