Role
Lorne P-12 College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wellbeing Coordinator to join our team. This role is integral to fostering a positive school environment that supports the emotional, social, and academic growth of all students. The Wellbeing Coordinator will be responsible for designing and implementing student engagement programs, providing one-on-one and small group support, assisting teachers, engaging parents, and building the capacity of inclusion across the school community, in addition to a reduced teaching load.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and Implement Engagement Programs:
oDevelop and coordinate school-wide wellbeing programs that promote student engagement, resilience, and a positive school culture.
oCreate and lead initiatives that support mental health awareness, social-emotional learning, and student empowerment.
oCollaborate with teachers, students, and external organizations to design programs that address the diverse needs of the student body.
2. Student Support:
oProvide one-on-one and small group support to students facing social, emotional, or academic challenges.
oDevelop individualized wellbeing plans and interventions to support students in overcoming obstacles to their learning and personal development.
oMonitor and assess the progress of students receiving support, adjusting interventions as needed.
3. Teacher Support:
oWork collaboratively with teachers to integrate wellbeing practices into the classroom environment.
oProvide professional development and resources to staff on topics such as student mental health, behavior management, and inclusive teaching practices.
oAssist in the development of classroom strategies that support the wellbeing and engagement of all students.
4. Parental Engagement:
oEngage and collaborate with parents and guardians to support their children¿s wellbeing and academic success.
oFacilitate workshops, information sessions, and resources for parents on topics related to student wellbeing and mental health.
oAct as a liaison between the school and families to address concerns and promote positive communication.
5. Inclusion and Capacity Building:
oPromote and support the inclusion of all students, regardless of their background or abilities, within the school community.
oDevelop and implement strategies to build the capacity of staff, students, and families to create an inclusive and supportive school environment.
oLead initiatives that celebrate diversity and promote understanding, respect, and inclusion among students and staff.

Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

VIT LANTITE
To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class a person must have provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching. In addition, from 3 August 2020, to be eligible for employment in the principal class or teacher class, a person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016, must demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements. This condition is satisfied where the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian Initial Teacher Education program completed by the person.

Lorne P-12 College is located in the seaside town of Lorne on Victoria¿s stunning Surf Coast. The College has long and important history stretching back to its founding year of 1879.
The school is located in the traditional lands of the Gadubanud, or `King Parrot¿ people, who occupied the coastline, rainforest, estuaries, grassland and wetlands of The Otways for many thousands of years.
