Immersive Technologies is the global leader in operator training simulators for the mining and earthmoving industries. Located in Osborne Park, our Payroll Officer will consult with each of our Australian offices ensuring their payroll is correct and paid on time, every time.
The Role:
We require full time maternity cover for our Payroll Officer commencing January 2025 for a 12-month contract. You will play a pivotal role in delivering and reporting services, ensuring excellence in quality, adherence to corporate standards, and compliance with legislative requirements all within specified timeframes.
Your expertise will be instrumental in meeting and exceeding customer expectations. Your main responsibility will be to manage payroll functions efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate processing. You will also play a vital role in maintaining compliance, contributing to operational excellence, and supporting financial integrity within the organisation.
With a payroll base of approximately 200 team members, this role manages the process using a third-party payroll provider for weekly wages and monthly salaries.

Key Responsibilities:
End-to-end payroll processing, including updating payroll records and liaising with staff and management on payroll-related queries.
Ensuring each pay run is completed on time and correctly.
Prepare monthly leave report and update all leave records.
Prepare payroll reports to meet internal and statutory obligations.
Following through to ensure the best payroll outcome for the team and team members.
Superannuation payments and reporting.
Payroll Tax processing (WA, QLD, NSW).
Processing PAYG, Workers Compensation, FBT, Centrelink and work-related expenses.
Setting up Bank Transfers.
Previous experience in Payroll Metrics system or similar is desirable.
Being able to interpret tax department rulings related to superannuation, wages, income, and payments related to payroll.
Ideal Applicant:
The ideal applicant will have at least 3-5 years' experience in a similar position with the ability to switch between payroll processing systems and excel with ease.
Value the importance of accuracy and timeliness in a payroll environment and will go the extra mile to ensure this is maintained.
Strong experience/knowledge of payroll legislation, regulations, and best practices.
Experience in managing multiple Awards.
Proficient in using payroll software.
Experience in using HRIS systems.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Meeting deadlines.
