You will lead and deliver quality, standard compliant engineering documentation and be responsible for the production of design deliverables under direction from senior engineering staff.About the RoleReporting to the Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Primary Systems), you will be responsible but not limited to:Preparing engineering documentation as directedApplying established engineering principles and standards in the design and preparation of drawingsEnsuring drawings are comprehensively set out and fully dimensioned with reasonable tolerances to facilitate effective construction or manufacture using normally available equipment and processesPreparing drawings to budgeted hours and timeframes as directedPerforming basic engineering design calculations to facilitate accuracy of detail designsEnsuring that engineering documentation is effectively identified and filedChecking the drawings prepared by other draftspersonsPreparing material take offs from drawings as requiredMonitoring budgets and schedules for the areas under your controlJob PurposeProvide conceptual and detailed design of HV Substations up to 500kV for major utilities and renewables projects including BESS, solar and wind farms, and also providing support on Transmission Line projects.Key areas of substation design:Substation Configuration and Busbar Config (Single, double, 1.5CB scheme, etc …)Plant layouts, sections, and detailsBusbars and Connections (Fittings, Busbar Selection (Rigid, Strung), S/C Forces, Gantry forces, Sags/ Tension/ Deflection, Arrangement)Clearances and Layouts (Safety, Fire, Transportation and Maintenance)Underground Services (Trenches/ Conduits/Cable routes capacity)Earthing services (Main Grid/Tails)Transformer/Reactor Bund design and detailsUnderstanding of HV equipment/Buildings specification and technical particularsAbout YouQualifications:Relevant Tertiary Qualification, Diploma status in engineeringConstruction Safety Awareness TrainingSkills & Experience Required:You will have a minimum of 10 years of proven skills in problem solving and effective communication, the ability to meet established deadlines, and have experience with Microsoft Office whilst demonstrating:Legally able to work in the country in which the position is basedExperience of working in a project coordination role for CAD/BIM applicationsExcellent communications skills both written and verbalExcellent organisational skillsAble to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential informationSelf-motivated and able to take responsibilityResilient to cope with conflicting demands, able to prioritise duties and work effectively under pressure while remaining calm and professional at all timesAble to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasksGood interpersonal skills and able to work independently and as part of an effective teamFlexible attitudeAble to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externallyExperience and working knowledge of the following software applications:Autodesk NavisworksAutodesk RevitBentley Substation & Microstation V8iAutoCADDocument management systems (eg.
