PanAust Limited ("PanAust") is an Australian-headquartered copper and gold producer in Laos, with pre-development and exploration assets in Laos, Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Chile.Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this is an opportunity to join PanAust during an exciting period of revitalising its development opportunity pipeline as well as analysing external growth options.Our Assets In Laos, PanAust's subsidiary, Phu Bia Mining Limited, operates the Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operations.Both are world-class, award-winning operations with strong operational, safety and sustainability credentials.In PNG, PanAust owns the Frieda River Copper-Gold Project, one of the largest known undeveloped copper and gold deposits in the world.The project will help to supply the copper required to facilitate the renewable energy transition.Frieda River is a sustainable, nation-building project which includes the development of a hydropower facility and public infrastructure that will advance one of the least developed regions in PNG.In Chile, PanAust owns 100% of the Carmen copper gold project and 66% of the Inca de Oro copper gold project.Both are promising pre-development assets, which are being progressed by PanAust.The Role The Deputy General Manager Finance position will be an 18 month fixed term contract supporting the Chief Financial Officer.The role will be responsible for providing overall supervision of PanAust's consolidated businesses accounts and finance functions including statutory reporting, taxation, treasury, shareholder reporting, compliance, transactional services center and accounting standards.Your key responsibilities will include: Maintaining all statutory reporting, taxation, and compliance activities for all PanAust entities across all jurisdictions including Laos, Chile, Australia, Singapore and PNG.Overseeing the preparation of Financial Statements for the Group and its subsidiaries (including the annual external audit process).Supporting any merger, acquisition or capital restructuring processes including management of financial and tax due diligence, integration and implementation.Effectively managing all treasury functions and group cash flow including external funding and managing the Group's exposure to commodity prices.Centrally leading and managing the annual group consolidated budget process for all business units, including supporting the consolidation and presentation of the same for Board of Directors approval.Managing the delivery of consolidated reporting against budget including consolidated management financial statements and business specific KPI's and performance metrics including meeting all Shareholder reporting requirements.Developing strong working relationships with key external stakeholders such as bankers, auditors, and financial advisors.Supporting the group corporate governance environment with respect to financial controls including the maintenance and adherence of the Group Delegations of Authority as well as all accounting policies and processes.Driving cost consciousness amongst managers and superintendents and be a sounding board for any decisions impacting capital expenditure, costs and revenue.Ensure corporate standards and policies are followed with respect to financial controls and develop additional operational procedures where required.Ensuring effective internal controls are in place and compliance frameworks are in place and effective.Review systems and processes and identify any commercial risk exposure the company may face.Develop strategies to mitigate risks identified.
