ABOUT THE ROLE
The Geology Team at Mount Magnet are seeking an Underground Mine Geologist to join the team.
Provide technical and advisory support and information to the key stakeholders regarding all underground mine geology activities. Whilst ensuring these activities are carried out in a safe, effective, and efficient manner to support the aims detailed in the mine plan and achieve production targets.
Working 8 days on, 6 days off, this is a permanent opportunity FIFO from Perth or BIBO/DIDO from Geraldton.
Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, this role will:
* Manage stockpiles/headings and complete daily production tracking, reconciliation, and validation of mined material.
* Safely undertake geological mapping and sampling of development headings.
* Plan and manage underground drilling programs (diamond and sludge) to delineate ore, log core/chips.
* Create, update, and maintain 3D geological models through effective underground mapping and logging.
* Manage data, validate drillhole data and ore production data.
* Interact with mining department to maximize ore recovery and minimize dilution.
* Lead, supervise, and direct Graduate Geologists and Geology Technicians as necessary.
* Ensure that risks and opportunities are communicated in a timely manner.
* Ensure timely and accurate collation of geological data (including QAQC) and reports.
* Contribute to the geological interpretation and help to ensure its incorporation into high quality JORC compliant grade control and resource models.

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, we would like to see;
* Bachelor of Science in Geology or Geosciences.
* Previous underground experience in a similar role within the mining industry.
* Proficiency in geology and mine planning software (Surpac and Leapfrog).
* Proficiency in mining production reporting.
* Competent level of knowledge of complex gold mineralisation systems and underground mining methods.
* Knowledge of Archean greenstone systems and gold systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Prominent level of attention to detail and accuracy.
* Sound planning and organisational abilities.
* A West Australian C class driver’s license (manual) and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance for site access clearance purposes.
