Job Title: Accessibility Design Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Accessibility Design Specialist to join our team and help us create digital products and systems that are accessible and inclusive for all users. If you have a background in accessibility (AX) design, a deep understanding of assistive technologies, and a commitment to inclusive design, this is the role for you!
Key Responsibilities:
* Apply your expertise in accessibility (AX) design, with a strong focus on ARIA and WAI standards, to enhance the user experience for people with disabilities.
* Conduct usability assessments and implement best practices to ensure products meet WCAG guidelines.
* Gain insights into how users with different disabilities interact with digital products and identify areas for improvement.
* Utilize assistive technologies, such as screen readers and speech-to-text applications, to ensure our systems and products provide a seamless experience for all users.
* Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in accessibility, interaction, and content design.
Essential Qualifications:
* 4 to 5 years of experience as an Accessibility (AX) Designer.
* Knowledge of ARIA and WAI documentation, with an understanding of complex UI accessibility.
* Familiarity with assistive technologies and the unique needs of users with disabilities.
* Strong knowledge of WCAG guidelines and how they are interpreted in digital design.
* Citizenship required as working for government client.
Preferred Certifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
* Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work under pressure.
* Ability to communicate complex ideas visually, orally, and in writing to diverse audiences.
* Passion for inclusive design and a collaborative approach to promoting accessibility across teams.
