About the Role This position works as part of a team to perform general maintenance, repairs, manual tasks, and grounds maintenance across Carpentaria owned, leased, and managed properties. This includes approximately 30 Supported Independent Living houses and the Harry's Place campus buildings. On a day to day basis the Grounds Maintenance Officer will: Responsibilities include: Responsible for garden maintenance including upkeep of lawns, gardens and reticulation, and associated landscaping projects Undertake periodic inspections of reticulation systems and carry out associated repairs and maintenance Ensure all work carried out is in accordance with Carpentaria's Workplace Health and Safety Policies and Procedures Prepare, maintain and ensure accurate electronic and hard copy records Removal of rubbish and green waste Respond to emergency repair situations and undertake other duties required, noting that such activities may on occasion be outside normal working hours Maintain or schedule servicing of all equipment supplied About you Demonstrated ability to work independently to a high standard Proven experience in a similar role Strong communication and interpersonal skills Good understanding of Workplace Health and Safety matters, in relation to both personal safety and the safety of our participants and employees Experience in repairing reticulation systems Demonstrated ability to work on schedule and to prioritise tasks An ability to work in an inclusive and diverse team, and to work around participant and employee schedules The capacity to undertake tasks outdoors for extended periods of time Current Ochre Card, Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Screening and NT Drivers Licence Why work with us?
