Tandoor Indian Kitchen is an authentic Indian restaurant and one of the Best Restaurants in Newcastle Region located in Stockland Jesmond Shopping Centre Jesmond, NSW 2299, Australia. We are looking for a qualified and experienced Chef on a full-time basis who is passionate about food and has the ability to handle a busy and pressure kitchen environment with a diverse menu while maintaining the industry and restaurant standards.
Your Responsibilities Include (but Not Limited To) Prepare and execute dishes and menus with colleaguesMeet with customers to discuss menus for special occasionsMenu planning including special menu, group and functions menuPrepare food to meet special dietary requirementsLead and manage all aspects of the kitchen operationOversee food plating and garnishing, maintaining consistency and artistic presentationMonitor all dishes for quality, presentation, and portion controlRegulate the temperature of stoves and ovens to ensure the dishes are cooked at appropriate levelsEnsure food handling and storage is in accordance with food handling regulations and is of the highest standardInspect facilities or equipment for regulatory complianceRequisition stock, materials, supplies, or equipmentRecruit and hire staff, including cooks and other kitchen workersDemonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staffInspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standardsEnforce strict health and hygiene standardsEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchenDemonstrate strong work ethics and a 'can do' attitude to motivate the team and maintain good relationshipsSkills And Experience You must be fully qualified - AQF associate degree, Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma certification in relevant Hospitality qualification.You must have proven experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen for at least one year or above.Creative and proficient in rostering, cost control & food safety management.This position is a full-time (38 hours per week, minimum) with a salary range between $70,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation.
