The Role
As an HSWE Lead, you will assist with risk based, prevention strategies to support a large, high-risk workforce managing a widespread, infrastructure asset footprint. You will play an essential role in advising the Group on the management of HSWE risks, with a focus on their large infrastructure frontline workforce of 5000+. You will join one of Australia’s best performing and most dynamic HSWE teams, with outstanding career growth and development opportunities.
Key Elements:
* Supporting business functions to achieve Telstra’s HSWE strategic goals
* Engage, support and effectively influence a complex and diverse group of stakeholders
* Senior level engagement and reporting
* Working closely with working groups on key key initiatives identified for implementation
* Assess risks and operationalisation of mitigating controls for new activities being undertaken by the business
* Conduct assurance activities on frontline employee activities to assess compliance

About You:
* Effective communication and the ability to build relationships, negotiate, influence and support stakeholders
* Analytical thinking and problem solving
* Strong understanding of HSWE regulations
* Tertiary qualifications with in HSW
* Proven experience with in HSEW Advisory/Specialist role, ideally with in high-risk industry
* Proven ability to work independently
* Ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities
* Research and problem solving
Highly desirable:
* Environment and/or occupational hygiene experience
* Lead Auditor qualification and exposure
