The Role: We are seeking a Fitter (General) at Almax Aluminium to join our extrusion press teams as part of our maintenance crews. The role will carry responsibilities of a Qualified Fitter (General) and demonstrate commitment, reliability, and self-motivation within the team. Main duties: Operation of equipment and performing maintenance, repairing or overhauling of hydraulic mechanical parts. Quality inspection of extrusion with correct tools/gauges against inspections drawing and work orders. Constant review of extrusion production line to ensure optimal effectiveness. Fitting fabricated metal parts to reduce production downtime. In consultation with the senior maintenance staff and other tradesmen to identify equipment and areas requiring attention. New installations of general machinery. Comply with all safe working procedures and company policies. Maintain all overhead manual lifting equipment (gantry, jib cranes). At times will be required to operate and maintain robotic packing line with consultation skilled leaders and subcontractors. General maintenance of unused machines. To be successful you will have the following qualifications: Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Fitter. Test and Tag and Restricted Electrical License. Current LF Forklift license. EWP (Elevated Work Platform) Scissor, Boom and Vertical Lift License. Current HR Heavy Rigid truck license. At least 2 years' experience in a similar role. Metal welding skills greater than 2 years. What we can offer you: Guaranteed annualized salary will be $75,000 (exclusive of superannuation). Superannuation as per legislative requirements – currently 11.5%.
