Watch this video to learn more about EDQ's recent work and achievements: About EDQ EDQ is responsible for delivering the purpose of the Economic Development Act 2012, principally the facilitation of economic development, diverse housing and development for community purposes. It is dedicated to driving economic growth, sustainable development, and community prosperity across Queensland, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our state. About The Role As part of an established governance and legal function, this role is a senior member of the legal team advising the EDQ Executive and other key internal clients across a range of major projects including urban precincts, residential communities, industrial land developments and other infrastructure. Day to day you will: Advise on planning, development and environmental law matters (with a focus on the Economic Development 2012 (Qld), Planning Act 2016 (Qld) and Local Government Act 2009 (Qld) as well as related legal issues including property, commercial, construction and contract law). Provide advice on administrative law, statutory interpretation and EDQ powers and responsibilities related to the delivery of major projects and infrastructure. Advise on and draft development, planning and infrastructure related agreements including but not limited to priority development areas, designations and infrastructure agreements. Advise and assist on tendering and procurement related matters. Play a key (at times lead) role in project development teams. Manage external legal and related advisors. As a senior team member, mentor and develop other members of the legal team. Skills/Experience To be considered for this role you will have: Admission as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland with 6 years' PAE in planning and environment law. A commercial approach, allowing you to provide strategic, pragmatic legal advice. Exceptional communication and engagement skills to develop collaborative and effective relationships.
