Job Description
An exciting development for Queensland Rugby, the Queensland Reds Women’s Head Coach will work in and deliver a female focused high-performance environment across a 12 month program. They will lead and inspire the Women’s team, align with the organisation’s strategic direction and implement a high-performance coaching program to support, challenge and develop emerging and elite female rugby athletes. Their expertise will be instrumental to drive the team’s success, nurture talent and foster a culture of excellence both on and off the field. This role presents a unique opportunity to shape the future of Women’s rugby within Queensland, contributing to its growth and prominence on the national and international stage.
Purpose
In essence, the purpose of the Head Coach position is to lead and be accountable for the Queensland Reds Women’s program. This role will influence and support the underpinning programs that contribute to the sustained success of the Queensland Reds Women’s team and contribute to the Queensland Rugby brand and the growth of the game in Queensland.
This is a part-time position which will work across 12 months of the year. The role will have two distinct workloads:
October to April
Lead and deliver the Queensland Reds Women’s pre-season preparation and in-season campaign for the Super Rugby Women’s competition
May to September
Lead and deliver the Queensland Reds Women’s Academy program for designated Wallaroos and selected Queensland Reds Women’s and Development players

Experience & Capabilities
Demonstrated desire and commitment to work and thrive within a female high-performance environment
Outstanding and proven ability to lead, coach and manage an elite high-performance rugby program including the ability to drive a strong team identity within the broader organisation
Outstanding and proven coaching knowledge and technical/tactical competency
Excellent understanding of the components that contribute to a high performing rugby program including the incorporation of sport science, sport medicine and athlete wellbeing
Excellent people management and communication skills including the ability to develop, maintain and leverage relationships, particularly with female athletes
Adaptability and resilience
Emotional intelligence
Excellent time management skills
Work Hours & Indicative Scheduling Requirements
Ability to work flexible hours which will include weekends
Ability to travel both interstate and internationally for short periods of time

Qualification Requirements
Level 3 or 4 rugby union coaching accreditation (Rugby Australia accredited or the equivalent)
Smart Rugby (Rugby Australia)
Current blue card (or the ability to obtain)
Current legal right to live and work in Australia
