About the role
The Retail Risk Manager is responsible for supporting the Retail Risk Lead in reviewing a stream of transformation of the Commercial Division being Credit Risk Transformation, a key deliverable of the Commercial strategy investment slate.
Specifically, the role is responsible for reviewing and challenging digital propositions that drive a simplified, valued customer and banker experience. This review and challenge role will use data, customer and risk insights in order to support proposed project solutions.

Role Type: 12 month Fixed term opportunity, Full Time
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
1. Strong analytical, numerical, research and problem-solving proven ability to turn data into information and information into actionable business decision strategy.
2. Proven technical capabilities and experience with data analytics/science and/or decision systems techniques and tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, R, Python, PowerCurve, AbInitio, etc.).
3. Proven ability to design, enhance and work with reporting sources.
4. Strong experience in risk management, managed strategies for both retail or commercial products.
5. Skilled at the use of facts in discussions and communication with staff and peers.
6. Strong ability to communicate up (one level above) and amongst peer groups.
7. Excellence in presenting highly complex problems and processes in simple terms that are easily consumed by a broad range of stakeholders, adjusting the level of messaging to suit the audience.
8. Ability to deliver clear and concise messages, with logically structured flow.
9. Solid people and project management skills - with the ability to motivate and manage one or more analyst(s).
10. Well-developed written and oral skills with ~60% of role behavioural, stakeholder engagement evident, executive presence a strength, 40% of the role technical (having already exhibited experience in previous technical roles via individual’s career path).
11. Excellence in being able to ruthlessly prioritise the things that matter, continuously questioning the relative value of planned an unplanned work. Ability to be agile whilst staying true to the agreed core priorities.
