We are recognised as a credible, national peak body for sustainable and nature-based tourism.Role SpecificationThe Communications Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery of communications and event activities under the guidance of the Stakeholder Engagement Manager and assist with projects as they arise.
This role works directly with the Communications and Events Officer and will also collaborate with the CEO and Certification team on key projects and requests.This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in sustainable tourism and is ideal for someone eager to expand their knowledge of the tourism industry, with a focus on sustainability.Key ResponsibilitiesThe purpose of this role is to design and deliver Ecotourism Australia's key communications and marketing activities as required by the Ecotourism Australia leadership team including the Stakeholder Engagement Manager and Chief Executive Officer.
Tasks may include but are not limited to:Compiling and distributing the monthly ECONews e-newsletter and assisting in the preparation and distribution of additional EDMs to members and the general public.Coordinating and writing content for EA's corporate website and the consumer-facing Green Travel Guide including page updates, articles and case studies.Managing and updating content on EA's corporate and Green Travel Guide websites.Managing Ecotourism Australia's social media presence across LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram, including content creation, scheduling and performance reporting.Designing and updating Ecotourism Australia communications collateral including but not limited to posters, banners, brochures, or flyers as required using Canva and/or InDesign.Supporting the content and design of other corporate communications materials such as the Corporate Strategy and Annual Report.Supporting in event organisation in the lead up to key events like Ecotourism Australia's biannual conference, the Global Sustainable Tourism Summit.Providing administrative support across the communication and certification teams.Selection CriteriaDemonstrated experience in communications and/or marketingExceptionally strong writing skills for various audience types and platformsExcellent organisational and time management skillsStrong attention to detail and creative flairDemonstrated experience using Canva and/or InDesignAbility to work unsupervised and demonstrated capacity to show initiative by bringing ideas to the table and seeking opportunities for improvement.Interest in the tourism sector and in environmental and sustainability issuesRelevant tertiary education qualifications (tourism, communications, marketing) – completed or undertaking.Experience with CMS (HubSpot) an advantage but not requiredAn understanding of certification/accreditation programs (ideally Ecotourism Australia's), or the ability to quickly attain this knowledge is an advantage.Must possess the right to work in Australia.Applications close at 5 PM AEST on Tuesday, 8 April 2025.
