Child Welfare, Youth & Family Services (Community Services & Development)
We are currently seeking casual Youth Workers to join our team in Emerald.
Our Youth Workers will support young people by providing a sense of safety, structure, acceptance, stability, and security in our Residential Care homes.
What will a typical day look like?
* Engage with young people to support them in all aspects of life, both in the home and wider community.
* Implement strategies identified in the care plan and participate in the review of care plans to ensure young people have clear, relevant, and achievable goals.
* Support planned contact and connectedness to family as approved by child safety services.
* Support social, recreational, educational, and health activities for young people in line with their individual care plan.
Mandatory Requirements:
* Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or working toward this qualification (proof of enrolment required).
Alternative qualifications or working towards:
* Certificate IV in Mental Health, Community Services, or Youth Work.
* Diploma in Behavioural Science, Counselling, Nursing, or Mental Health.
All other training is available through AnglicareCQ.

* The ability to identify and embed solutions.
* Demonstrated experience working within a high-performance framework where you are accountable for KPIs on program delivery and outcomes, within a fast-paced solutions-focused environment.
* Effective time management and organisational skills.
* A strong communicator, able to quickly build rapport and influence across a diverse range of people.
Other Requirements:
* Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption).
* Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice).
