Job Title: ARD Coordinator
Summary
Coordinates and conducts admission, review, and dismissal meetings for students. Serves as a consultant for other ARD chairs and works in a self-contained or team capacity.
Responsibilities
* Communicate with administrators, evaluators, and related service personnel regarding ARD meeting needs
* Schedule and chair Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, notifying parents/families of the meeting
* Facilitate ARD committee discussions to ensure effective communication and collaboration
* Ensure compliance with federal and state timelines for ARD Committee meeting functions
* Monitor ARD paperwork and maintain thorough documentation of significant concerns or needs
Requirements
* Certified special education teacher or educational diagnostician
* Three years of teaching experience in special education or deaf education/assessment
* Experience complying with IDEA and sign language proficiency at an advanced level
Desirable Qualifications
* Masters degree in a related field
* Experience working with students who are deaf and hard of hearing
* Knowledge of Special Education Laws and proficient signed communication skills
