The Stakeholder Engagement and Issues Manager role is a high-profile position within Dairy Australia and the dairy industry. Dairy Australia is charged with overseeing and managing the issues/incident management function on behalf of the industry – your ability to identify, prioritise and support the response to actual and emerging issues will support your success in this role.In addition to coordinating Dairy Australia’s government relations workplan, this role involves proactive and strategic engagement with key stakeholders across the dairy supply chain, industry bodies, advocacy groups, and other relevant organisations. You will play a critical role in building and maintaining strong relationships with government, industry leaders, and key partners to support the industry's interests and ensure effective collaboration on critical issues.The key responsibilities of the role include:Be the primary point of contact for industry for emerging and actual issues.Communicate and consult with key industry stakeholders, including but not limited to; Dairy Australia personnel, Australian Dairy Farmers, Australian Dairy Products Federation, State Dairy Farmers Organisations, dairy processors, other peak bodies, government departments and agencies and subject matter experts, to identify emerging issues.Provide input into the preparedness and response strategies for emerging and actual issues and support the team leader and response teams in the implementation of the strategy.Ensure there is industry awareness of, and education about, the DA issues management function. This may include leading training around the function, presenting at industry forums, producing a regular issues update for the industry and other promotions of the function.Coordinate information and briefings to support DA in their engagement with government, industry bodies and other key stakeholders, including Senate Estimates and the DA AGM.Build and manage key relationships and contacts to ensure dairy processors, representative organisations and other stakeholders are engaged and informed of emerging and current issues.Refine and manage Dairy Australia's government relations strategy.Coordinate key events that support a positive engagement and information exchange between the dairy industry and government.Coordinate and maintain high-level briefs for senior organisation and industry leaders and bodies as required.Measure and report on the effectiveness of the stakeholder engagement and government relations strategies.Our ideal candidate:We believe in equality.
